A domain is a service that is paid in advance for a certain periode of time. So if you want to cancel your domain you will need to disable the renewal.
How to disable automatic renewal of your domain
- Login your Myhostdeko account
- Go to Domains>My Domains
- Click on the domain you no longer wish to renew (the box, not the url itself to prevent visiting your website)
- In the left menu go to Auto Renew
- Press the large red button: Disable Auto Renew
Depending on the TLD (.com, .nl, etc) the domain will often enter a grace and redemption periode. During the redemption periode a reactivation fee can be paid in order to reactivate the domain. After a redemption period the domain will be deleted and can be registered by anyone that wishes too.
